Discover how you can help your child succeed in school - guaranteed!

How understanding your child’s unique learning style leads to success.

Your child is cheerful, eager to please, intelligent and curious about the world, yet at school he consistently underachieves and his report card says he is inattentive and unfocused.  So, what is going on?

It may be that the way your child learns does not fit with the way the school teaches.

Every child has a unique way of learning, their own special learning style.  When a child can learn in the way he prefers learning becomes easier and quicker for him.  But when he is being asked to learn in ways that are different from his preferred way of learning he will find it difficult to learn.

For example, some children have a strong visual learning style, they learn best when information is presented in diagrams, graphs, mind maps.  They struggle to write a good essay without the visual help of  a graphic organizer, a way of helping them ‘map’ their thoughts and ideas.

Other children learn best when things are presented in a logical, step-by-step way. Not for them the unstructured approach of some project work, they prefer worksheets and clear directions.  Their desks tend to be clean and their books are in order.  They need a structured environment in order to do their best work.

Other children cannot work at a tidy desk.  They learn best when they are surrounded by things that stimulate their brains.  These children love the freedom of expression that comes with project work but hate having to finish work sheet after worksheet.

The trick to helping your child learn is to know their preferred learning style and how to adapt material to meet this style.

When your child is underachieving it is not because of lack of intelligence, or lack of application or focus, it is because he is trying to learn in ways that do not work for him.  Learning becomes hard work, he feels that he is stupid because he can’t ‘get it’ when the teacher asks him to learn in a way he finds difficult.

You can help.

You can show your child how to adapt the work he has to do to fit into his preferred style of learning.  It is not hard once you know how your child likes to learn.

Check out my first program, it is all about discovering how your child learns and how you can help him make sense of things that he doesn’t understand
